David Lynch Weekend draws crowds to Maharishi University of Management

25-28 May 2007

The Second Annual David Lynch Weekend was held 25-28 May at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA and drew hundreds of participants from across the country.

Dr Robert Roth was the event moderator who began the weekend by introducing John Hagelin PhD, renowned quantum physicist. Dr John Hagelin gave two talks during the weekend with the themes, 'Quantum physics and pure consciousness—the discovery of the Unified Field' and 'Preventing war and terrorism from the quantum level'.

David Lynch, celebrated filmmaker and guest of honour, discussed his recent book, 'Catching the big fish—where do the biggest ideas come from?' to the delight of his many fans and admirers for his philanthropical work through the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace.

Donovan, legendary singer/songwriter gave a talk on 'Singing, songwriting, and the creative process' and entertained the crowds with a live concert.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, via live connection from MERU, Holland, blessed the assembly with a vision of how students can create peace and invincibility for their nation. Maharishi shared the inspiring news from around the world where peace and invincibility is already happening through his Invincibility Schools, which incorporate twice daily sessions of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programmes including Yogic Flying into the school routine.

Maharishi said to the students:
'What I'm doing is I'm engaging some people in every country according to population and creating an effect... national consciousness is rising in coherence. In positivity. In affluence. In peace.'

'So I don't want to speak these days because time of speaking is over — I've been speaking for 50 years and people have responded — those who could understand — that it is possible for a man to do what he wants. And what a man wants — he wants more and more and more and more and more and more of everything.’

'More knowledge, more power, more action, big action — so in that spirit now what I'm wanting is no one should be unhappy, no one should be suffering, no one should be unhealthy, and no one should be negative — and not no one singly, but no nation could suffer.’ (read more)
