Up Tour of Africa highlights progress in Consciousness-Based Education, Part II Slideshow

During his tour of Africa this year Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management in the USA, visited a number of countries in regions where Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes for health, Consciousness-Based Education, and world peace have been introduced during the last few years.

After making a number of presentations in South Africa, Mozambique, and Zambia, Dr Morris continued his tour through Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, Namibia, the islands of Sao Tomé and Principe, and lastly, Cape Verde.

Women in several cities of Tanzania are eager to start Consciousness-Based Education schools, and a few individuals are on training courses in Thailand to become certified as teachers of Transcendental Meditation.

A group of 25 computer science students in Tanzania have learned Transcendental Meditation. During his visit Dr Morris presented the students with their graduation diplomas.

At a medical school in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Dr Morris spoke to a group of psychiatrists about research on the mental health benefits of Transcendental Meditation. Many in the audience expressed keen interest in learning more about TM and how it could be useful in their profession. (read more)
