In March, Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management, arrived in Nairobi, Kenya on his 14-country tour of Africa. He was welcomed there by teachers of Transcendental Meditation who helped arrange his tour in the country.
Dr Morris, spoke at Kenyatta University, a new and progressive university which is highly organized and has a beautiful campus, he said. The overall reaction was very positive, with many in the audience remarking on the clarity of the presentation about Consciousness-Based Education.
Later Dr Morris met with the Hindu Council of Kenya, a group associated with nine schools in the country. They were deeply moved and impressed to learn about all that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had done in the world, said Dr Morris, adding that they all wanted to hear about the Transcendental Meditation programme.
But perhaps the most touching part of the meeting occurred when the former headmistress of a school for girls in Nairobi spoke at length about the dramatic effects the school saw when Transcendental Meditation was first offered there. (read more)
