The January 2011 issue of At Home in Maharishi Vastu—the e-newsletter of Maharishi Vedic Architecture—highlights the new design service available to create Maharishi Vedic Gardens for buildings designed according to principles of Vedic architecture.
On the fascinating and informative website, www.maharishivedicgarden.com, one can read about the origins and principles of Vedic Garden Design, watch a lovely video, order a book, and learn details of the consultation services they offer.
The Institute of Vedic Garden Design and the Institute of Vedic Interior Design were inaugurated 11 December 2010 by Maharishi European Research University (MERU). The two new institutes were welcomed by Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Architecture of the Global Country of World Peace.
Dr Hartmann explained during the inauguration that Vedic architecture is the architecture of Ayur-Veda, the Vedic prevention-oriented healthcare system which considers the house and garden as an extension of the physiology.
Describing the pioneering research of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, honoured by Maharishi as first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, Dr Hartmann explained that the architecture of human physiology has a one-to-one relationship with our cosmic counterparts—the sun, moon, planets, and stars. Our brain is highly sensitive to orientation, position, and direction in space, and research has shown that the firing patterns of neurons in the thalamus of the brain are altered by the direction one is facing.
'As one of the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Vedic Garden Design is another gift adding one more layer to Vastu living', said a leader of the new Institute, a member of the Global Mother Divine Organization. 'Because the individual is cosmic, everything about the individual life should also be in full harmony with cosmic life,' she continued, quoting Maharishi's words. (read more)
