1 May 2014 During his tour of Africa this year Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management in the USA, visited a number of countries in regions where Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes for individual and societal health, Consciousness-Based Education, and world peace have been introduced during the last few years. Dr Morris' visit came several years after another international expert in Consciousness-Based Education toured Africa—Dr Ashley Deans, for many years Executive Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in the USA, who serves as Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education. In a series of lectures and presentations Dr Deans inspired many people about Transcendental Meditation and other scientifically validated programmes and technologies of consciousness developed by Maharishi. Reporting on his current tour, Dr Morris described some of the steps of progress through which Consciousness-Based programmes are being adopted by professionals, students, and members of the public. While touring Consciousness-Based schools in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg, Dr Morris held inspiring sessions with local practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and shared news of progress around the world in Consciousness-Based Education and other programmes of Maharishi for developing perfect health and creating world peace. From South Africa, Dr Morris went to Maputo, Mozambique, and met with leaders of the organization teaching Transcendental Meditation and visited former Mozambique president Joaquim Chissano.
