19 April 2011 The recent trip to China by the principal of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, Fairfield, Iowa, USA, Dr Richard Beall, helped awaken the interest of Chinese educators, parents and students in Consciousness-Based Education. Dr Beall and his wife Andrea attended 15 school fairs in 10 cities, visited several schools, and met many interested families and educators. Among the high-level contacts that were made, a 'Memorandum of Amicable Relationship' was signed with a leading school. The first interest of the Chinese people was the achievements of MSAE students. Having heard of students' extraordinary creativity and attainments in fields such as science and sports, they became interested in how the school helps them grow. Students at the fairs and schools they visited expressed great interest in the unique features of Maharishi School, including twice daily practice of the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Dr Beall explained that they were drawn to the low-stress environment and overall approach of the school, which nonetheless has resulted in a high level of achievement among students in many academic fields. Dr Beall expects more Chinese students to expand the boarding programme at MSAE. © Copyright 2011 Global Good News® |
