| 1 September 2012 The no-dig gardening method requires very little soil preparation, or even none at all. A deep layer of a combination of compost and mulch is spread out on the surface of the soil and the seeds are planted into it. Raised beds filled with this mixture also work very well and require neither digging nor tilling. |
